Many Are doing some serious baking with the season’s first Great American Bake Sale looming! The menu will include a lot of the favorites you love plus things you’ll never see on The menu! In addition, there will be a spotlight on some wonderful new recipes that contain the ingredients that the very generous Solo Foods has donated. So come to the Great American Bake Sale of Cookie Central, which will be Sunday, May 20, 10am to 4pm on North Andover Common and remember to do a Foursquare check in.

We haven’t written in so long! Here is a quick update: We were the Hunger Message Chair for the best culinary benefit ever! Taste of the Nation Boston was on April 19th at the Hynes Convention Center, and it was fabulous! Tommy Grella was a great emcee with the Honorary Chef Chairs Jody Adams and Gordon Hamersley. Watch for the TOTN Boston YouTube channel where we will post footage of the event and interviews with the best chefs of Boston!

BJ’s Wholesale Club’s Salem Taste of the Town. We owe all the success of hosting a number of Bake Sales and promotions campaign to BJ’s, as they have been a great support and sponsor of this event,”The Great American Bake Sale Campaign”. This year we tried to make it a little different by arranging the table with all the delicacies of bakes and Share Our Strength swag and placed a small coin box with the label “Coins for Kids”. Amazingly, the coins rained into the box and we raised $60 which was beyond expectations. We also had an opportunity to meet some great people like a lady from ‘Head Start’ who was to take part in a “Cooking Matters” class and another lady who had already organized a bake sale event with her students in her school.

The next fun event that is coming up is the Community Bake Walk, which is planned for June 15th to June 17th. If you want to take part in the Community Bake Walk, then all you have to do is supply a small table or counter space for the merchandise. We supply you with the scrumptious chocolate chip cookies and donation jars. The business that raises the most money during the Community Bake Walk will be awarded for their efforts with a Dessert Party!

Our Overdue Follow Up To Our Patriots Game Bake Sale

Ah, Football. By the looks of it, it does not seem to be to glamorous. This happened to be, however, the most amount of enjoyment I’ve ever experienced at any bake sale. It may have been because it was low-key, or maybe it was the support of an RV full of people…or it could have been the cold beer… Either way, this -our final bake sale for 2011- was awesome.

Hiting the Street!

The table didn’t last but 5 minutes. The RV lot stayed pretty barren on our end, so we took the show on the road and hustled for No Kid Hungry. Having an assistant was a huge help as I am great in delivering basket with handles. For really embracing the No Kid Hungry Message, we would like to give our thanks to Dave. You can trust me, absolutely, ever penny goes to feeding hungry children. Of course, there plenty of hungry kids. I can back that up! Toasts to the creator of Smart Phones.

Swag In The Stadium.

Brought we did! It does not matter that we were successful or not in the tube…., Both ways, the Team No Kid Hungry marked their performance within and outside of Gillette and it is trusted that we could connect with at least few people.

Choice of the Evening.

That one guy or girl is always at every bake sale I ever attend. Someone who listens and wants to make a difference. A chance encounter, during a brief altercation with a man who had been bitten by a camel (blogging for a rainy day) That was the way I met Chad. Not enough good things I can say about the conversation we had, but let’s leave it at – this guy gets it!
