Thinking Back to the Life of the Late Portrican Singer Frankie Ruiz

Frankie Ruiz’s true name was Jose Antonio Toressola Ruiz. Frankie Ruiz was born in New Jersey in the city of Paterson. He enrolled and took-up his lessons in the place and soon chose to migrate from Puerto Rico to Usa. While in his younger years, he truly loved singing salsa and started to be a part of The Charlie Lopez Orchestra, a local music group that time. The very first taped song he sung with the music group is the Salsa Buena. But after his parents separated, he moved to Mayagez, Puerto Rico in the year 1976.

He was always present during the bands shows and concert and he even committed to memorize all of their songs. There was once a time where Frankie’s mother asked a few opportunity for his son but the director of the music group who was Rivera did not provide such. But destiny had been really playing in his hands as in 1977; there was this one presentation of the La Solucion in which their lead singer was not able to show up giving Frankie Ruiz the chance to perform in behalf of the lead singer. The presentation ended up with good success which made him a part of the band. Along with the band, he was able to record another type of Salsa Buena. His work with the band survived for three years which gave him the opportunity to produce his initial strike, the La Rueda.
There after, around 1980, Frankie Ruiz joined Tommy Olivencia as well as Primerisima Orchestra. Sensual Salsa was the term applied for his type which made him followed by many supporters. He was in a position to make his first hit with the band Lo Dudo. After Three years in the music business, he decided to have solo career and produced his own recording with Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico, T Con, Desnudate Mujer, Mi Libertad and among other bands.
While he journeyed all through Europe, Latin America and US, he frequently uses the phrase “Vaya, Mi China” (Go, My Baby).
