Ending Your Depression Over Infertility

July 19, 2012 · Posted in Pregnancy · Comment

Working through your depression over your infertility isn’t an option. It is a necessity. If you ever hope to actually get pregnant and start a family of your own then dealing with your depression over the troubles that you might be having is your first step towards actually becoming pregnant. Even though it is natural that you might feel some pain and anguish when you see a happy couple with a baby or when you hear about an unwanted baby, dealing with your emotional state and coping with your infertility is absolutely necessary.

Any kind of depression for any reason can bring your life to a complete halt if you don’t deal with it. Depression can rob you of days of your life and also causes more harm to your body than you might realize. Even though you might have well meaning friends that will tell you that it will pass and that eventually you will pull out of it, this isn’t considered help. People telling you that if you just stopped thinking about your infertility issues or that you can adopt if things don’t work out doesn’t help you right now. You might even find yourself wanting to further isolate yourself and even lie to your friends and family about your feelings because you feel that nobody understands you. Even though there are probably people around you that have been through the same thing, these words might not be of comfort because your depression might be linked to something deeper and more profound.

It’s common for women to feel guilty about their infertility. Perhaps you feel like you did something in your past to cause your infertility. Maybe harm was done to your body which is physically causing these problems or maybe you feel guilty about your past and think that you are cursed. You might think that for some reason nature isn’t giving you the child that you want so much because there is something wrong with you. You fear that in some way this is God’s or nature’s way of telling you that you are unsuitable to be a parent. In the end, you feel like it’s your fault that you can’t get pregnant.

Getting down on yourself or beating yourself up isn’t helping you. You’re in a very dark place and there is no real truth to these thoughts or emotions. You are no different than anyone else that has gone through a trying time while trying to get pregnant. I know it’s difficult to pick your head up after you’ve beat yourself down but you must if you ever hope to find any future happiness. There is hope and there are dreams still in your heart. Live those dreams and take the risk of spending some time each day with a smile on your face and joy in your heart as you think about how it’s going to feel to hold your baby for the first time. Know in your heart that this is your future. Keep the big picture in your mind and see things down the road when you wake up in the middle of the night because your baby is calling to you. Delight in these dreams and dare to push back the darkness so you can start living again.

Of course, sometimes you’re just going to be depressed. There will be days when you just want to hang it up and crawl back into bed because you don’t think that you can handle seeing another happy, pregnant couple. You might even become overwhelmed in a moment when you thought you were doing absolutely fine. Sometimes these depressive times can take over as you slip further and further into depression.

One thing that you can do to get yourself out of the house and also improve your mood is to exercise. Exercise is not only important to help you overcome infertility it can also help you to overcome infertility depression. Also, your chance of finding a pregnant woman out jogging or taking a kick boxing class is pretty slim. Your body also releases chemicals that will help you to feel better and further help you to overcome infertility depression. Overall, exercising is a great thing to do to help to overcome infertility depression and also improve your chances of getting pregnant.

Doing something starting today to help eliviate your depression is a smart move. Putting it off until tomorrow might be tempting but there is a pretty good chance that you’ll put it off tomorrow also if you do so. When Is The Right Time Of The Month To Get Pregnant?

July 5, 2012 · Posted in Pregnancy · Comment

Are you worried that you might be infertile? Are you having difficulty getting pregnant and you want to know when the best time of the month is to get pregnant? Knowing the best time of the month to get pregnant is pretty important and eliminating the issue of timing can either narrow the causes of the problems that you’ve been having or allow you to get pregnant as soon as this month.

While this might seem very basic, in order for you to fall pregnant the timing has to be pretty close to perfect. You only have a few days out of the month when you are actually fertile and a couple of good headaches could make your entire month a loss if you’re really trying to get pregnant. Knowing when you’re fertile is the trick though, isn’t it?

Many women can tell when they are ovulating and some can even tell you which ovary they are ovulating from. Pain on either side of your pelvis might give you a clue that you are ovulating or getting ready to ovulate. There are also ovulation predictor tests that can predict the date when you are going to ovulate. A good free method for predicting when you are ovulating so you can plan some time with your partner is to keep track of your basal temperature. Taking your temperature each morning before you get out of bed and writing it in a notebook can give you a pretty good idea of when you are ovulating.

Knowing when you are ovulating is crucial if you have been having a difficult time getting pregnant. Your egg and your partner’s sperm need to meet up. It takes time for your egg to drop down into the fallopian tube and also time for your partner’s sperm to reach the egg. It’s almost like orchestrating two trains meeting between Boston and San Francisco. For couples having difficulty getting pregnant, assuming that ovulation is happening in the middle of the cycle can make it almost impossible for pregnancy to occur if, for instance, ovulation is happening on day 2 of the cycle. With a little knowledge and understanding, seemingly infertile couples have gotten pregnant quickly and easily.

An often misunderstood misconception, so to speak, is that in order for you to become pregnant you need to be together when ovulation is occurring. While this may work out, to improve your chances of getting pregnant a little planning is needed. It’s almost like trying to squirt a running dog with a hose. By the time the water from the hose gets to the dog, he’s already gone so you have to lead him a little bit

It’s almost like planning for your partner’s half to be waiting for your egg to arrive. Your partner’s half of the baby making equation has about three days to make its journey so planning things out and knowing when the train arrives, so to speak, can help improve your chances of getting pregnant. Knowing ahead of time approximately when you are going to be ovulating can help with this planning and charting when you ovulate from month to month should give you a pretty good idea of when this will occur. Even though doctors might tell you that you should ovulate about in the middle of your cycle, we are all unique and it could be that you ovulate on day two or three. This is a very good possibility that this might be your problem if you have been going by the rule of thumb and planning things around the middle of your cycle.

So, if you have been having a hard time getting pregnant and the word “infertility” has begun to creep into your vocabulary, learning a little more about when you ovulate and trying to time your baby making time based upon this information might help you to find success. Remember that all of us are unique and even though you might wish that you were typical, learning a little bit about your body and how it works just might help you to avoid several months and thousands of dollars’ worth of infertility treatments. This simple trick could help you to get pregnant as soon as this month.

When the process of fertilization is successful, it is combined with a procedure known as embryo transfer, which is used to physically place the embryo in the uterus. The average length of the cycle can be taken as 28 days. In other words to make it more easy to understand ovulation calendar is a program that calculates the time of ovulation and generates your personal fertility calendar.

And knowing the days of your ovulation through ovulation calendar, one can know the most promising days to do IVF.

During the IVF procedure, avoid alcohol and smoking and reduce consumption of caffeine (coffee, tea, cola).

IVF is not something simple and cheap, so discuss with your partner carefully. Perform in-depth study, consider the advantages and disadvantages if you both want to do the IVF procedure. Note that your finances enough to do the IVF procedure

The last most important thing is, do preparation physically and mentally to become a mother. It is a great thing to be a mother and parent . Consult with your doctor, make sure you have enough accurate information and readiness to become parents.

A Bit About Acupuncture for Fertility

January 25, 2012 · Posted in Pregnancy · Comment

Time and time again we are quick to judge what we don’t understand, and something we failed to even try to understand for some time was the practice of acupuncture. Instead of getting to know more about this eastern practice, we preferred to create a westernized view of it that was more comical than serious. Like in movies, acupuncture is always brought on by that “kooky” doctor who doesn’t know what they are doing, and always causing one of the central characters pain. Thankfully, we have begun to work our way out of such a stereotype, and today, acupuncture for fertility is gaining more and more popularity.

If we went off of what movies say, we might never realize the way in which acupuncture actually works, in a setting of tranquility, where one is able to promote a healthiness.

The art of acupuncture is actually set as a Chinese discipline, having been molded centuries ago, and centered around isolating areas of a person’s body for wellness.

Granted, one must be sure to understand the way in which they can benefit most from the practice of acupuncture, and like any new thing you try out, it is by taking it on with an open mind. If one closes their mind off to the possibility of acupuncture really helping them, they will no doubt create an air of stress that complicates the ways they react to the insertion of needles. If they stay open minded, they can allow for their relaxed mindset to pair up with the positive effects of acupuncture and create an experience like one would never expect.

Of course, let’s get back to the path of acupuncture for fertility for a moment.

As time progresses for a woman’s body, conceiving a child can be more and more challenging. In order to help along the process, a woman may consider trying a variety of tactics. Anywhere from switching up their diet and the kinds of foods they consume, to actually purchasing legal fertility drugs to help the process.

The benefits of acupuncture outweigh the cost of fertility drugs, and is proven to be more effective than a change in diet. Acupuncture works to isolate blood flow around the ovaries, increasing their ability to function and aiding in conception, and general health.

The only downside that must be addressed first and foremost when evaluating acupuncture for fertility is the guarantee at hand: there is none. While acupuncture is one of the most effective aids in conception, and its side effects are next to none when compared with other fertility aids, it is still not guaranteed. Fertility is a tricky topic and can be reliant on a number of factors one cannot predict nor manage toward their advantage. What one should remember though, is to reach out to a phsycian. They will have the greatest insight into acupuncturists in your area and will do well to find someone who will fit your bill.

Seeking Acupuncture in NYC

December 25, 2011 · Posted in Pregnancy · Comment

Finding an acupuncture NYC site is pretty easy to do, but there are some things that you need to understand first. However, there are important things to consider first before you end up getting your acupuncture done in New York. For one, you should consider getting those needles inserted right onto your skin and that is something that could cause trouble if you have issues with that.

You might be wondering why there are all these needles involved when it comes to acupuncture. The answer is that these needles actually control the pressure points of the body. When the said points are stimulated, the blockages would be opened and then the toxins can finally come out of your system.

There are also some after-effects that you can experience with acupuncture. So it would be best if you can prepare for these as well. This is your body’s response to the healing it receives and so the whole regulation process is starting once more.

Because acupuncture also has its pros and cons and may actually not be for everyone, it’s best to wait for your doctor’s advice before getting into one. Keep in mind that acupuncture should not be your major source of treatment. It should only serve as a supplement.

When you also consult your doctor prior to getting a treatment done, you can have the best referral possible. Your doctor might actually know a good professional acupuncturist who can look at your case this way he can also monitor your progress as you get into the said regimen.

When you are given some herbal supplements, make sure that you understand if they are fit for you. To do this, inquire about the herbal supplements to your doctor so that you can really identify if it’s great for you to use.

When you are still on the lookout for the best acupuncture NYC clinic, make time to get an appointment to see the place and talk to the acupuncturist. This way you can survey the area and see if it fits your liking or not.

It would also be best to choose an acupuncture NYC clinic that’s situated near your area of residence. This way you can be sure that you would be able to follow your sessions strictly. This is also an added benefit for you especially if you are sometimes going to commute to and from the acupuncture clinic.

Does Tubal Reversal Procedures Have High Success Rate?

November 18, 2011 · Posted in Health · Comment

Some men may be doubtful of their decisions after they have undergone vasectomy procedure. This usually happens due to some unavoidable circumstances and changes pertaining to personal or even financial aspect of living. For this reason, they will probably think of regaining his fertility and be able to father a child in the future again. Upon considering tubal reversal ligation, the complexity of this surgical procedure should always be well understood. There may be cases that you will end up unsuccessfully after the surgery.

However, there are several chances of becoming a father again as well as the factors that can ruin the chances. Though you reached a high rate of success; there are several factors that will influence the outcome of such surgical procedure. Primarily, the number of year since the initial vasectomy procedure is performed has been the basis of the doctor. If it already took ten years since the original surgery, the chances of success with a vasectomy reversal procedure will be limited. There will be less hope of regaining your fertility because several complications may occur when there is a big gap between the initial procedure and the intended tubal reversal ligation surgery.

However, there have been instances wherein vasectomies that were older than twenty five years were reversed successfully but these happen frequently. The numbers of years that have passed since the original operation are inversely proportional to the success rate of a vasectomy reversal. Tubal reversal ligation has two types of procedures that are performed by the surgeon depending on the patient’s condition. The vasovasotomy is the first option which is used in people who have had the initial procedure within three years of the intended surgery. This procedure is done by joining the cut ends of the vas deferens with thin sutures.

Secondly, the doctor prefers to conduct vasoepididymostomy if there appears a scarring tissues and blockages in people who have initial vasectomy procedure for about a decade or more before he intends to go for a tubal reversal ligation. In this procedure, the vas deferens tube is joined directly to the epididymis. Both procedures are performed with the objective to remove or bypass the barriers caused by the vasectomy procedure and to regain fertility.

The expertise and competence of the surgeon is also considered a one factor affecting the success rate of the said reverse surgery. Tubal reversal ligation is very expensive, so you need to ensure that the doctor who works on your case has the potential to do such thing. It would be of great help if you choose a well-experienced surgeon with a good rate of success with his/her prior patients. If possible, ask relevant questions about his rate of success in performing a particular surgical procedure. Talk to the surgeon about what you need to do before the actual surgery. The doctor with his skilled staff will guide you for your preparation before going to the actual surgical process. After the surgery, you will also be given instructions by your surgeon for the effective and safe recovery of your surgery.

If the tubal reversal ligation ended up successfully, sperms will reappear in a few months. The surgeon then requires you to conduct a sperm reversal after the procedure in order to analyze if the surgery was successful. Considering that the surgical procedure is performed successfully, pregnancy would then follow after 12 to 18 months. There will be a great chance for you to have a child again as you wanted. Unfortunately, you need to consider another option, the Invitro fertilization, to father a child biologically. That s in case the vasectomy reversal procedure failed.
